THE RESEARCHER BEHIND THE ARCHIVE

CHRIS STYLES

ONE QUESTION BECAME A BODY OF RESEARCH.

Chris Styles is the researcher behind 365 Pin Code and the body of work preserved within this archive.
The Human Futurist

What began as a personal investigation into recurring mathematical patterns gradually developed into a much larger research programme spanning people, careers, leadership, performance, politics, relationships, innovation and major world events.

365 Pin Code became the original public home of that research.

It is where many of the questions were first asked, where early propositions were tested, and where hundreds of analyses were published as the work continued to evolve.

WHAT IF PATTERNS COULD BE EXAMINED SYSTEMATICALLY?

A DIFFERENT KIND OF QUESTION

Could recurring mathematical patterns be examined in a sufficiently structured way to reveal something useful about the timing, pressures and circumstances surrounding human experience?

That question led to another. And another.

Individual analyses became comparisons.
Comparisons became recurring observations.
Forecasts created opportunities for later evaluation.
Contradictions raised new questions.

And over time, the work demanded a framework capable of examining far more than a single number or isolated characteristic. The archive documents much of that journey as it happened.

THE FRAMEWORK HAD TO KEEP DEVELOPING.

FROM ANALYSIS TO RESEARCH PROGRAMME

Chris approached the work comparatively.

Rather than relying only on individual examples, he began examining larger numbers of people, events and circumstances to determine whether patterns repeated, whether relationships between variables remained consistent and whether earlier interpretations survived further testing.

Over time, the research expanded across very different fields.

  • Business leaders.
  • Political figures.
  • Elite athletes.
  • Scientists.
  • Entrepreneurs.
  • Creative figures.
  • Relationships.
  • National and international events.

Periods of transition, pressure, achievement and consequence. This widening research base became increasingly important. A proposition that appeared meaningful in one life had to be examined against another.

A pattern observed in sport could be compared with leadership. An interpretation developed through one case could be challenged by the next. The objective was not simply to accumulate examples. It was to understand which relationships travelled.

THE FRAMEWORK HAD TO KEEP DEVELOPING.

THE EARLY WORK REMAINS VISIBLE.

The articles within 365 Pin Code reflect different stages in Chris’s thinking. The terminology used in some historical articles is no longer the terminology he would use today.

Some ideas became more important through further research. Others were refined. Some questions were replaced by better questions.

That development is part of the reason this archive has been retained. The original articles have not been systematically rewritten to make the earlier research appear more contemporary than it was.

They remain part of the historical record. Because the development of a methodology is often as revealing as the methodology itself.

THE ENQUIRY DID NOT END HERE

BEYOND 365 PIN CODE

As the research accumulated, Chris began constructing a much more detailed mathematical architecture capable of examining multiple dimensions of an individual’s circumstances simultaneously.

The work eventually developed into what he now calls the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint, the IMB. The IMB represents a later stage in the research journey documented throughout 365 Pin Code.

Its purpose is not to make decisions for people.

It is to explore whether additional structure, relationships and timing information can change what becomes visible before a consequential decision is made. That work now continues through The Human Futurist.

A CAREER THAT SHAPED THE QUESTIONS

RESEARCH, LEADERSHIP AND HUMAN BEHAVIOUR

Chris’s research did not develop in isolation from his professional experience. His background includes applied ecology, banking leadership, executive development and coaching, environments in which systems, behaviour, performance, decision-making and consequence repeatedly intersect.

That combination helped shape the nature of the questions behind the research.

  • Why do two people experiencing similar circumstances respond differently?
  • Why do certain periods appear to carry disproportionate pressure or opportunity?
  • Why do apparently strong decisions sometimes produce consequences much later?
  • Can additional information improve the quality of judgement before those consequences arrive?

These questions increasingly became more important than the individual analyses themselves.

A CONTINUING BODY OF WORK

MORE THAN 20,000 HOURS OF RESEARCH.

Since the research began, Chris has invested more than 20,000 hours examining, testing and developing the framework.

The resulting body of work includes thousands of individual analyses, comparative studies, forecasts, retrospective examinations and research propositions.

365 Pin Code preserves an important part of that journey. The Human Futurist represents where the work has moved next. Together, they provide two different views of the same continuing enquiry:

365 Pin Code preserves the record. The Human Futurist continues the research.

THE QUESTIONS CHANGED

THE ENQUIRY CONTINUED.

The earliest articles in this archive capture one stage of Chris Styles’ research.

The contemporary work reflects another. What connects them is not a fixed conclusion.

It is a continuing attempt to understand whether patterns, timing and structure can help us see more clearly before decisions carry consequence.
