Sport Case Studies

Our sport case studies reveal the success or disappointment of an individual player or team lies in their Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint’s (IMB’s).

Sport is not just about physical strength and skill, nor is it is solely the mental game. The ability to perform under pressure, handle setbacks, and make split-second decisions can make or break an athlete’s career. But is there a scientific explanation for why some athletes thrive while others struggle?

What is an IMB? It is a bespoke experiential data-matrix that uses predictive modelling to calculate an athlete’s unique mathematical blueprint. The IMB captures critical moments of success and failure, which appear as numbers, patterns, and sequences. By analysing an athlete’s IMB, we can gain insights into their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

Let’s take a look at some examples of how our sport case studies have used IMBs to explain athletes’ performances. In early 2018, our analysis of  Jurgen Klopp’s IMB predicted that he would lead Liverpool FC to their first Premier League title in almost 30 years. On the other hand, our analysis of Conor McGregor‘s IMB in 2018 revealed that he was heading into troubled times. This was substantiated by his 2019 loss to Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov.

But are critical events coded into athletes’ IMBs?

Yes, they are. The IMB captures every athlete’s unique experiences and behaviours, which shape their performance. For example, after having her first child, our analysis of Serena Williams‘ IMB revealed why she shockingly exited the Australian Open. By examining her IMB, we identified strategic changes she needed to make if she wanted to equal Margaret Courts Grand Slam Record.

Similarly, our analysis of Emma Radacanu‘s IMB predicted her phenomenal US Open win. By analysing her data-matrix, we identified her current challenges and opportunities for improvement. In the case of Ben Stokes, our analysis of his IMB revealed that he is no ordinary cricketer. His 2019 performance in The Ashes, where he saved the game by smashing 135 not-out, was no fluke. By analysing his IMB, we identified key factors such as his mental toughness, skillset, and ability to handle pressure.

Our sport case studies reveal that the science of sports is not just about physical, mental and emotional attributes. By analysing an athlete’s IMB, we can identify critical moments that contribute to their success or failure.
